In 1992, the Warren W. Eukel Teacher Trust was formed to honor the memory of this well-known Contra Costa County resident who worked for more than three decades to help teachers positively influence students.Warren W. Eukel graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in 1950, and then embarked on a career in physics and nuclear research. He and his wife Avis raised three sons, who were educated in the Walnut Creek public school system.
Mr. Eukel felt that education should be accessible to all, and that since students would carry their teachers’ influence into their adult lives, excellence in education was the only rational goal for schools.
